Final checklist

Use this checklist to make sure you have setup your file correctly. Below are a few examples of the file (first line) and how it looks cut (second line)

teacups

  • Is your document size setup to the size of the material sheet and your artwork all 2.5mm in from the edge? See sheet sizes here.
  • Make sure your file is setup as RGB (not CMYK)
  • If you want to etch an area make it a black stroke or fill (0, 0, 0 RGB)
  • If you want a line to cut make it a red stroke (no fill) (255, 0, 0 RGB) with 0.1pt width
  • If you want to etch a thin line “vector etch” make it a blue stroke (no fill) (0, 0, 255 RGB) with 0.1pt width
  • Setup at 100% of the size it needs to cut
  • Outline all your fonts (convert to shapes)
  • Remember we only need a 2mm gap between each piece so squeeze as much onto the sheet as you can!
  • Keep all etching in the same area on your sheet, preferably in long lines as it’s quicker.
  • Save your files as PDF or AI (preferred), EPS, SVG, DXF, DWG
